If you're from a European country like me, do you recognize any of these situations? I can really relate to some of these haha, especially the one about Eurovision, or buying certain items across the border because they are cheaper there. But I've also definitely driven through Germany to avoid traffic in France and Belgium, which is probably pretty weird to people from other parts of the world.

One thing I'm rather clueless on, as I'm American.
ReplyDeleteI so don't miss having to pay to use the bathroom. That is one nice thing about the US free public bathroom.

Who pays for the cleaning products, and do people clean them for free? Free public bathrooms are a mystery to me!

I live in America but I have been to Italy and the lack of bathrooms and/or paid bathrooms was shocking to me. It actually ruined my trip a little because I was always worried about not being able to go find a place to go to the bathroom. Here in America, bathrooms are plentiful and FREE! I also remember the roads being so small and all the cars tiny; another thing you never see in America. Also, I use to live on the USA/Canadian border a long time ago, and people crossed from Canada into the USA just to go shopping all the time because our goods were so much cheaper.
ReplyDeleteThat's really funny! I'd be shocked by actual bathrooms you don't have to pay for haha
DeleteThis is too funny, Sharon:D Being Canadian, we have totally different problems:P
ReplyDeleteThis is too funny- the US has free public bathrooms and it always baffles my European friends!

It's crazy!
DeleteGostei da sua reflexão, aqui no BR a maioria dos banheiros públicos são pagos, ainda mais os de shopping center. :(

DeleteOh my driving through one country to avoid traffic in another that does sound a bit crazy lol but I guess it is kind of similar here where someone may not choose to drive through the NYC are and to drive through a near by state to avoid traffic. And being from NY not having a lot of public bathrooms is the same. You have to use them in cafes and the like but must eat there. Or go to a Starbucks thats what I do when I am shooting all day during NYFW.
